Linda Giambrone, most recently of Endemol Shine, will oversee physical production at both the network and the booming studio.
In the midst of a stellar, reality-driven summer, NBC is again beefing up its alternative executive roster with the addition of Linda Giambrone as the new head of production.
The new role sees the veteran production executive and Emmy-nominated producer working at both the network and upstart alternative studio, carrying the title of NBC Entertainment executive vp production.
“The fact that Linda is joining our team at this pivotal point in Universal Television Alternative’s growth is a huge coup for us,” said Meredith Ahr, president of the Universal Television Alternative studio. “A studio’s value is in being a trusted brand, and that is built on its people’s ability to innovate, problem solve, and deliver at the highest level. Linda is someone who will ensure our execution is unparalleled as we continue to expand and position ourselves as a global leader.”
It’s been a strong summer for the studio, launching the No. 1 alternative series in years in World of Dance. (The Jennifer Lopez vehicle, recently renewed for a second season, joins The Wall, Better Late Than Never and Hollywood Game Night on Ahr’s growing roster.)
Giambrone joins NBC after more than a decade at Endemol Shine North America (and its various previous iterations), most recently serving as head of unscripted production and executive vp. She will oversee all aspects of physical production for all alternative programming at network and studio.
“With her vast experience working in various television formats and launching productions of all sizes, Linda is one of the industry’s most respected production executives,” said George Cheeks, NBC and Universal Television president of business operations and late-night programming. “I’m looking forward to working with Linda to grow our studio operations and expand our global footprint with innovative alternative formats.”
Prior to Shine America, Giambrone launched Dancing With the Stars at BBC Worldwide Productions.
